The Kentucky Attorney General's Office issued the following open records decisions last week:
1. 24-ORD-176 (In re: Adam Brien/Calvert City Clerk)
Summary: The Calvert City Clerk did not violate the Open Records Act when it denied a request seeking information without describing any public records to be inspected.

2. 24-ORD-177 (In re: Ben W. Richard, Jr./Luther Luckett Correctional Complex)
Summary: The Luther Luckett Correctional Complex violated the Open Records Act when it partially denied a request for records without explaining how the cited exemptions applied to the records it withheld. On appeal, the Complex carried its burden of showing that the attorney-client privilege applied to certain records. The Complex did not violate the Act when it partially denied the request for records that do not contain a specific reference to the inmate requester.

3. 24-ORD-178 (In re: Scott McDonnell/Department of Corrections)
Summary: The Office lacks jurisdiction to consider a complaint alleging that the Department of Corrections violated the Open Records Act because the Appellant has not submitted a request to inspect records.
