The Kentucky Attorney General issued the following open records decisions last week:

1. 24-ORD-227 (In re: Dante Stone/Louisville Metro Government)

Summary: The Open Records Act does not apply to the Jefferson County Circuit Court Clerk.

2. 24-ORD-228 (In re: Sarina Gibson/Muhlenberg County Property Valuation Administrator)

Summary: The Muhlenberg County Property Valuation Administrator did not violate the Open Records Act when it provided all responsive records it possessed.

3. 24-ORD-229 (In re: Laurie Mills/Spencer County Clerk’s Office)

Summary: The Spencer County Clerk’s Office did not violate the Open Records Act when it could not provide records that do not exist in its custody or control.

4. 24-ORD-230 (In re: Kareem Jenkins/Office of the Governor)

Summary: The Office of the Governor committed a technical violation of Open Records Act when it did not respond to a request within five days as required by the Act. However, the Agency did provide the Appellant with all records responsive to his request upon receiving notice of the Appellant’s appeal.

5. 24-ORD-231 (In re: Randall Knuckles/Bell County Fiscal Court)

Summary: The Bell County Fiscal Court did not violate the Open Record Act when it did not respond to a request it claims it did not receive.
