The question is whether the owner of a motor home purchased in another state upon bringing the motor home into Kentucky is required to obtain a state fire marshal's seal.
The 1976 amendment to KRS 227.600 added the following:
"(4) The owner of any mobile home or recreational vehicle purchased in another state and not bearing a seal of approval shall purchase a seal from the office. Application to purchase a seal of approval or a Class B seal shall be made to the licensure board.
"(5) The licensure board shall make available suitable forms for application for seals of approval for new mobile homes and recreational vehicles or Class B seals for used ones.
"(6) The clerk of the county in which a mobile home or recreational vehicle is sought to be registered after June 1, 1976, which was purchased out of Kentucky, shall require production of proof of purchase or a seal of approval as provided in subsection (4) of this section before registering or issuing a license for any such mobile home or recreational vehicle. "
We interpret the statute as amended to show that it is the legislative intent that every mobile home or recreational vehicle in Kentucky must bear the Fire Marshal's seal before it is registered in Kentucky regardless of whether it is brought into Kentucky by a dealer or by an individual owner.
