The Kentucky Open Government Coalition today announces its new logo. The logo reflects the Coalition's commitment to promoting government "in the sunshine."
The Coalition will soon launch a multi-featured website.
The Coalition was established in the midst of the March, 2019, legislative assault on the Kentucky open records law. It has expanded its reach through advocacy, assistance, and education.
That legislative assault on Kentucky's open government laws shows no sign of subsiding, and the battle to preserve the laws continues.
The Coalition is grateful to the public for its support in these efforts. We urge the public to remember that "the people of this Commonwealth do not yield their sovereignty to the agencies which serve them; the people, in delegating authority, do not give their public servants the right to decide what is good for them to know; the people insist on remaining informed so they may retain control over the instruments that they have created."
